Hello my dears!

I realize I’ve been a bit of a local booster of late, but hey, I happen to live in one of the best cities for comic books in North America, so you have to let me brag a little. This week Portland is acquiring a brand new comic book store! Books With Pictures has the best mission statement in comics retail:

Our mission is explicitly inclusive; we strive to be a space that is welcoming to people who love good stories without regard to age, race, sexual orientation, gender expression, or disability status. We believe that representation of diverse perspectives is crucial to our mission, and stock content reflecting that belief.

I mean, how could you not. The store’s grand opening is THIS SATURDAY, June 4th, from 6pm to midnight! See you all there?
