Those of you who are in the Seattle area should be sure to visit the premises of Geek Girl Con, a great conference/convention focused on (like the name says) promoting the experience of being a female who is interested in cool things. If you’re a person who likes comics, novels, music, pop culture, games, design, math ‘n science, and having women involved in those things, it’s for you!

For your October enjoyment, my studiomate Jesse Hamm pointed me towards “A Podcast to the Curious,” a podcast devoted to the stories of classic British horror writer M.R. James. The crew do lovely audio performances of passages from the story, discuss and pick apart the plot, and elaborate on historical background and the author’s inspirations. You will almost definitely love it.
