Back into the Library! And outside, why, is it – could it be – yes, it is! It’s Luther. Haven’t seen him in awhile, have we? Poor guy, he’s  having a good morning so far, but I’m not sure it’s going to hold up.
Meanwhile: do you live in North America? Then odds are good that you’ll have a chance to see one of two fantastic comics artists promoting their books this month. Hope Larson is on tour for her adaptation of A Wrinkle in Time (her schedule here) and Raina Telgemeier is covering the country for her new graphic novel Drama (her schedule is on the right)!
Not many cartoonists do appearances outside of comics conventions, so this is a great chance to see these two talented ladies talk about their work. And, bonus – these books are both middle-reader friendly, so grab your favorite squirt and head to the bookstore.
I’m not sure if the spelling was different back then (they had some mighty funny ways to spell words sometimes, haha) but nowadays it would say Bibliothekskatalog on that door, with a k not a c :)
Thanks, Namsab! I puzzled over this one back in 2006 when this sign first appeared, since library catalogs weren’t really a known thing in 1768; unfortunately I guessed (slightly) wrong at the time, and now I’m stuck with this spelling until I reprint the first book and can correct all the times the sign appears.
But for now I’ll just pretend it’s 18th century orthography. ;)
Yay, Luther! As much as I love the shennanigans of the backwoods pagan wolf ladies, I was really missing the guy.
Me too! Don’t worry though, he’ll never leave the story for TOO terribly long.
